Spirit gives life
The focus of your mind can be in your body, soul or spirit. Many think that their spirit is the unconscious world in the basement of their soul. God wants you to realise that it is the most important part of your life. The thoughts of your spirit determine your destiny! Our soul's thoughts are learned from our spirit and body. Our body's thoughts are inheritable and partly experimental. Your freedom to choose is there what you think with your spirit.
Existence of spirit
If man has not his own experience of the spirit, he can easily say that it doesn't exist. When man denies the existence of the spirit, he easily takes speeches of spirits he heard for his own thoughts. So he unknowingly becomes a channel for those spirits to this world.
The term spirit has at least two meanings in the Bible and in the experiences of persons. First, the word spirit is used for a being of the invisible creation. "The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him..." Zech.12:1 Man is also a spiritual being, though he has also the earthly body.
Many have also met creatures who only have the spiritual body. Second, the word spirit is used to describe the origin of a word. "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1John.4:1
Words are originated from spirits. If you don't know spirits, you can criticise only the words. Now I am writing to you in some spirit. It is your task to test if the spirit of my text is originated from God. Every man can find the existence of his own spirit if he examines himself. As you can examine your body by touching it with your hands or examine your soul by pondering your feelings, equally you can examine your spirit by composing your deepest thoughts in a lonely place. Also fasting helps in this matter. The most important thing in this process is to learn to know the sound of own thoughts.
You can find that you have thoughts of your head, soul and spirit. You will notice what the difference is, when you say words with your mouth of your spirit or when you only think with your spirit. You will learn that it is possible to recognise the tone of your own thoughts. After this you might hear a thought with a different tone. Now you are able to ask: who is speaking? All men have not the energy or the courage to dig themselves so deeply. It really is a dangerous exploring expedition. They who "have found their own spirit", have at the same time become sensitive to experience things of the spirit world. They are in the danger of being credulous and to avoid this they need to have the ability to test spirits, so that they would not be deceived.
Religions are generally originated from some person, who has found the reality of the spirit world and has become knowingly channel for the messages from the spirit world into this world. He has started to pronounce the messages which he has heard from the spirit. This information includes the spirit that originated the message. Jesus and His apostles advise us to test spirits. How is it working in practice?
Man is deceived, because he believes what he wants to. Therefore you have to neutralise your human desires that you could test spirits. Jesus said to the Jews: "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?" John.5:43-44
They didn't accept Jesus and his words, because they desired human praise. They wanted to believe only such things, which bring glory to them in the eyes of people. They didn't agree with the humble spirit of Jesus.
If you receive Jesus as the Redeemer of your own sins, so your share in the death of Jesus puts to death your human desires and your share in His resurrection makes your spirit alive. The Bible names this event the circumcision of the heart.(Col.2:11-15).
Jesus offers you the safe way into the matters of the spirit world. When you become a believer God makes your spirit so alive that you will be able to hear words of the Holy Spirit and to receive His power. At the same time you will be more aware of the existence of your spirit.
Because your ears of spirit are opened, you can hear better also the voice of evil spirits. Thus there still is the danger that you will receive the words of a evil spirit as the word of God. They like to playact God. You can be the overcomer, if your spirit is filled with the Spirit of God's words. This request is good for all people: Be filled with the spirit that owns you. Many would be terrified, if they would better know the spirit that they obey.
A believer of Jesus will be happier with his God, if he will be filled with the Holy Spirit. When I speak in tongues, I feel how my spirit is praying, though my mind doesn't pray. So I pray with my spirit and experience the presence and power of God's Spirit in my heart. The thoughts that my spirit got will pop up to the level of my mind after a moment. After that I can talk with my mind to God and men what was originated in my spirit.

Genotype of spirit
We know who our kindred spirits are. That relationship often unites better than the physical one. Who are your spiritual father and mother? The genotype of spirit affects in your soul. You got it from your spiritual father, whose qualities are mixed with the qualities of your spiritual mother that is your community of kindred spirits.
Jesus gives us an example of that relationship: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?" Matth.23:27-33
Why are they decorating the graves of victims of their spiritual fathers? It is a quality of hypocrites. The opponents of prophets were same kind of hypocrites than Pharisees that opposed Jesus. They appreciated the religious traditions and not the message of prophets. They loved outwardly distinguished and gaudy traditions, but not the inside life with God.
We can conclude from the words of Jesus the next thing. Those Christians, who nowadays are decorating the tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem and building gaudy churches to Him, testify against themselves that they are the spiritual descendants of those who murdered Jesus. The dead Jesus is better than the living Jesus to those who want to bind people to the Christian traditions and not to the following of Jesus.
When you live according to the character and teachings of Jesus you appear to people as God's child. When you only follow Christian traditions you appear to people as a child of those who murdered Jesus. When Jesus says that a hypocrite is a snake, He means that the devil is his spiritual father. "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John.8:44
The apostles of the scientific outlook on life are nowadays the spiritual fathers of many persons. Their outlook is also a religion although they do not share this view. In the time of Jesus this congeniality was called the Sadducees. They attacked the teachings of Jesus using the intellectual perspective, because they thought that no spirit existed.
Today we have the same battle of spirits than 2000 years ago. Who is the father of your spirit? Your situation is not hopeless, although the devil is your father. If you receive Jesus, you will born of God and you will have a new and clean spirit. "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." John.1:12-13
If God is your father, you follow your brother Jesus and you put away all hypocrisy.

King of hearts
They who take care of tight traditions are often great pretenders and hypocrites. They regard important that everything looks outwardly fine and distinguished. They don't regard so important motives of deeds, but appreciate distinguished manners and formal doctrines. Jesus Nazarene is a hearty man who doesn't set in the ways of pretenders. Just therefore many consider Him strange or hate Him or some are delighted at Him.
Many religious persons consider Jesus a bad dissenter, who breaks common devotions and the atmosphere of traditional holiness. "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? But give what is inside the dish to the poor, and everything will be clean for you." Luke.11:39-40
It is possible to clean thoughts of your heart as well you can clean your hands or face. Who cares for cleanness of his thoughts! Many approach God through formal events wishing that God's grace would be moved to them without touching their deepest thoughts. They come to a holy place, church or to its altar and thus they clean the outside of themselves. Jesus is the King of Hearts and He doesn't practise any theatre on any altar.
If some always succeed in speaking and behaving in a Christian way, though they commit sin in their thoughts, they are pretenders and in great danger. Often formal Christianity is conflicting with Jesus Christ.
Whatever you are thinking in your spirit that makes you the person who you really are. Though you succeeded well in hiding your thoughts from people, God reads your deepest thoughts like an open book. He wants to touch your innermost person with His words. He is not interested in your role person. God's Son died for you, because you need to be cleaned in your heart. Jesus is received only through the faith of heart.
Life starts from thoughts that you got from the God's word. You got as a gift the cleanness that affects the new thoughts, words and deeds, but the old attitudes live in the soul of a believer and are lurking the possibility to control thoughts of your spirit. Therefore it is important to stay a subject to the King of Hearts and guard one's own mind. It is good to learn the thoughts and attitudes of Jesus from the Bible to be able to guard one's own mind. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus." Phil.2:5
On the other hand it is good to stay away from such Christianity that makes you a pretender. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." Luke 12:1 So get away from the congregation of hypocrisy that you would be able to clean the thoughts of your heart.
The King of Heart is warning you against a religious pretence. Pretenders are warning you against sectarianism and to be too fanatic disciple of Jesus.
I am happy about the fact that God answers to simple prayers, when they come out my spirit. It is a great relief to live in the penetrating light of God. Repeated phrases that many are praying like magic verses are considered sins by God. It is very dangerous to pretend when you pray. In this connection the show that you play will surely drive away God from your life. "God is spirit, and His worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth." John.4:24
Your spirit must pray and worship according to truth. Your difficulty can be that you cannot even open the mouth of your spirit, much less speak truth. You are so familiar with using your biological mouth that you maybe don't recognise your ability to speak in your spirit at all. The few words you say with your spirit, you even hardly become aware weather it was your own voice or the voice of your memories.
If Jesus has made your spirit alive, go to a lonely place and shut your biological mouth and pray only with your spirit. Shout with the mouth of your spirit with all your heart to God and you will get the answer to your spirit.
After that prayers of your outside mouth will be significant, when your spirit prayed first. It is the job of your spirit to forward to your soul and sense, what it heard. God's life starts to flow through your spirit to your soul and from your soul to your body conquering you completely. May the King of Hearts lead you to sincerity.

Mind control
If you are able to choose, what you think, you also can control your feelings. There are no feelings of anger without thoughts of hate. It is hard to calm down the body if you let hate take control over it. It would be easier to control thoughts of hate. So appreciate the quality of your thoughts and not heroism of action. "Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city." Prov.16:32
There is not sexual lust without thoughts of desires. It is hard to restrain the body if you let lust take control. It would be easier to control thoughts of desires. So agree with pure thoughts in godly intercourse and your desire to get sexual intercourse will find the right object. "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Prov.4:23
Are you able to decide what you think? Often it is difficult to us. The environment inspires subjects of our thoughts. Images rise up from our memory and make us to think about them. On the other hand feelings of our body make us to think about similar thoughts. This leads to the vicious circle that feeds itself. You feel what you think and you think what you feel. You can get out of the circle with the thought of your spirit and so you are able to get a new mind.
If your spirit is dumb or doesn't know spiritual power-words, you are helpless. Jesus says: "The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." John.6:63 So provide your spirit with the words which Jesus gives you. "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." Rom.8:13 God's Spirit doesn't try to force aside the activity of your own spirit, but He collaborates with you. Although I preach about Jesus to others, above all I preach to my own soul and body.
If the mouth and ears of your spirit are opened, you can calm down your soul and body with one word of your spirit. Often you also need patience to wait for the hormones of your body to get into balance. All God's people have learned to control their mind by preaching to their own soul. "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Saviour and God?" Ps.43:5
The Spirit of God teaches my spirit to think in the right way. He also encourages me to put away dirty thoughts and to replace them with pure and good thoughts. When I agree very deeply with God's thoughts in my spirit, I can feel in my soul and body wonderful satisfaction. "The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace." Rom.8:6 "Rejoice in the Lord always!" Phil.4:4
When we succeeded in our deeds, we are glad. When we didn't succeed, we can still get joy from God. In any circumstances I can think in my spirit powerful thoughts of God, what kind of person He is and what He has given to me. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Phil.4:8 Also your imaginary world must be attached to the truth so that your spirit could control your mind.
God has created the perfect planning tools to our spirit, which often are misused. Our imagination is not meant to be the hiding place from reality, but it is meant to be the device that helps us to solve practical problems. Many escape the darkness of the real world to their imaginary world, where they are somebody else somewhere else. They imagine events, where they are such persons who they are not able to be in real life. At first they can separate themselves from their imaginative person, but gradually they mix reality with imagination.
When they live in their false world, it can happen that an evil spirit takes the role that they are imagining and so this spirit can affect in their attitudes without them even noticing the effect. They only feel that the imagination film runs like by itself. There is the danger that the evil spirit starts to live its own life in the dreamer, whose own spirit is sleeping. This can appear as a mental disorder.
Somebody can claim that to become a believer is the same kind of dreaming, but in practice it is not possible to meet Bible's Jesus in that way. On the contrary to become a believer is the awakening to reality after a lovely daydream. Obey Jesus in your practical situations, so you will notice that He is more real than you are.

The Spirit of God teaches my spirit to think in the right way. He also encourages me to put away dirty thoughts and to replace them with pure and good thoughts. When I agree very deeply with God's thoughts in my spirit, I can feel in my soul and body wonderful satisfaction. "The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace." Rom.8:6 "Rejoice in the Lord always!" Phil.4:4
When we succeeded in our deeds, we are glad. When we didn't succeed, we can still get joy from God. In any circumstances I can think in my spirit powerful thoughts of God, what kind of person He is and what He has given to me. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Phil.4:8 Also your imaginary world must be attached to the truth so that your spirit could control your mind.
God has created the perfect planning tools to our spirit, which often are misused. Our imagination is not meant to be the hiding place from reality, but it is meant to be the device that helps us to solve practical problems. Many escape the darkness of the real world to their imaginary world, where they are somebody else somewhere else. They imagine events, where they are such persons who they are not able to be in real life. At first they can separate themselves from their imaginative person, but gradually they mix reality with imagination.
When they live in their false world, it can happen that an evil spirit takes the role that they are imagining and so this spirit can affect in their attitudes without them even noticing the effect. They only feel that the imagination film runs like by itself. There is the danger that the evil spirit starts to live its own life in the dreamer, whose own spirit is sleeping. This can appear as a mental disorder.
Somebody can claim that to become a believer is the same kind of dreaming, but in practice it is not possible to meet Bible's Jesus in that way. On the contrary to become a believer is the awakening to reality after a lovely daydream. Obey Jesus in your practical situations, so you will notice that He is more real than you are.
Food of spirit
Spirit eats messages like body eats bread. The greatest part of our body is water. Therefore we must drink it. In the same way our spirit must drink spirit. What does it mean, when a spirit eats or drinks?
To receive a message is drinking, and to surrender to it, is eating. In the world there are many words without any message. Therefore people are so hungry in their spirit and they receive any message, which even a little nourishes their spirits. Seldom they ask, what food of spirit is healthful.
The gospel of the crucified and raised Jesus is the drink and the food to your spirit from God. And it is healthy! The Bible says about God's people: "For we were all baptised by one Spirit into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free - and we were all given the one Spirit to drink" 1Cor.12:13 When you get a greeting from the world of spirits, it is the food that you are able to eat. Jesus says: "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." John.7:37 The next experience of Jeremiah is also my experience: "When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight." Jer.15:16
The drink of spirit that God offers doesn't do for most people and they don't like to eat the food of the gospel. Their spirits are delighted at other drinks and they have got used to eat the food that has a different taste.
However if people of different backgrounds surrender themselves to the same message, they "will be baptised by one Spirit into one body". Sometimes it is easy to receive a message, but at the same time it is superficial. If someone who received Jesus doesn't eat Him, his spirit will starve or he starts to eat other foods. God says: "Unless you can eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." John.6:53 To unite yourself with Jesus requires absorbing His words. It is not enough to drink His spirit. "He who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit." 1Cor.6:17
Many have become believers in congregations, where other names than Jesus are proudly presented. Because of that they have not healthy appetite. Paul noticed this situation in the church of Corinth: "I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly." 1Cor.3:2 Their inability to eat solid food was not due to the short time they had been believers, but the fact that they were "worldly".
They had not united in their spirit to the message, which they had received. After drinking the Spirit they became proud and therefore they were not able to eat. Paul tried to get them to humble themselves that they could also eat. Who Jesus is, is the drink and, what He has done, is the solid food.
I give you two examples, the first is of drinking and the second is of eating. Of course this is not any fixed pattern, but you will experience something like this, when you will meet Jesus.

Eat this confession into your heart: "Jesus is the Redeemer of my sins. I have committed sin against God and I earn the death penalty for that. The reconciliation of the blood of Jesus is my only hope." Confess all your sins to God that your conscience knows. Thank God for the fact that He prepared the salvation for you in Jesus! You will feel how God's grace gives power to your spirit. You will experience peace and joy in your heart.
