Religious spirits
Religions have come into being when religious spirits have represented themselves as God. The Spirit of God doesn't produce a religion but believers who love God in Jesus Christ.
Cheated worshipper
When you are asking in your mind about answers to the basic questions of life, some spirit can answer you on behalf of your own thoughts. If you don't believe in the existence of spirits, it is easy for a spirit to feed his thought to you as your own idea. If you pray to God, a religious spirit can answer you on God's behalf. Because you didn't test the spirit it was easy for the religious spirit to deceive you.
It is certain that a credulous one will be deceived. Imagine that you would be an invisible man and you would hear how a man beside you prays to God. Then you may be tempted to play God and whisper to his ear the answer that would be suitable for you. Exactly in this way evil spirits do. It is the dearest job of the devil to play God. However he also enjoys the deception when you regard his idea as your own.
When someone speaks, his message conveys the spirit in him. Therefore when you receive a message you always also receive the spirit of the speaker. Just for this reason John, the apostle says: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1Jo.4:1
If you adopt a message the spirit of the message settles down in you. As a result of this you will share your message convincingly and spread your spirit on to those who receive your message.

Infallible worshipper
You cannot meet God without meeting your own evilness. Our evil thoughts, words and deeds separate us from God. If we are ready to confess our sins and to turn away from them, God offers us forgiveness. Instead if we defend ourselves and undervalue our crimes, God allows evil spirits to deceive us. Thus you can blame only yourself, if you were deceived by evil spirits.
Jesus Christ is the only human being who has lived his life without sin. Because He always had a clear conscience evil spirits were never able to deceive Him. Because He had no sin of His own He was able to atone the punishment of our sins.
Jesus suffered on the cross the punishment God had sentenced to us. He took our place and atoned our sins. In this atoning sacrifice God proved His love for us who have gone astray. If you turn to God through this sacrifice confessing your sins to Him, He will answer you. When the blood of Jesus purifies your heart, you will get the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. In this way you experience the genuine assurance of your salvation which doesn't deceive you.
Also evil spirits try to give you an experience of the salvation. However, they cannot bring the power of the blood of Jesus into your conscience. Therefore the assurance of the salvation they give, is based on some other experience than that of the purified conscience. They can give you peace of mind, joy and lovely feelings, but not a pure heart.
So do not allow supernatural experiences deceive you but seek the purity of your heart through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. The cross of Jesus is the gate through which you are allowed to come to God and you are saved from the deception of religious spirits. Only the pure conscience, gained by the blood of Jesus Christ, gives the fellowship with the Spirit of God. Life in the Spirit of God is not a religion but a totally new life.

Many insist their doctrine is right but the Bible says: "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they moved by the Holy Spirit." 2Pe.1:20-21 Because the Bible is written in the Holy Spirit, it also must be read in the same Spirit.
If you read the Bible in an unclean spirit, I cannot help you by teaching you the right doctrine. I can only urge you to take the words of the gospel with you and to turn to God so that you could get the fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
The word of the truth of the gospel has a special importance compared with all other things written in the Bible, because living through the word of the gospel gives the fellowship with the Holy Spirit. If you are not a partaker of the gospel, you cannot properly understand the word of the Bible, because you have not got the Holy Spirit.
Turning to God and getting the fellowship of the Holy Spirit give us the right doctrine. It is life that gives the doctrine and not the other way round. Everyone reads the Bible in the very spirit in which they live and get from the Bible the doctrine according to their spirit. Therefore John, the apostle says as follows: "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." 1Jo.2:27
If I abide in Jesus, the anointing, that means the Holy Spirit, abides in me, and I can understand the Bible properly. Remaining in Jesus means that He remains the most beloved for me, because He died for me. If He is the dearest one to me, His words and teaching are spirit and are life to me.
Although I love Jesus and I have the fellowship with the Holy Spirit, it is possible that I am mistaken about God's will at some point. However, God always corrects His own who misunderstand Him. Therefore everyone who does everything out of love for Jesus, is always safe.

Those in power have taken the strongest religions of their country under the protection of patriotism and united themselves with the religious spirits ruling in them. The ruler of a country has often represented himself as god or the head of the state religion. Therefore the cultures of the world are cultures of the religions.
People praise many kinds of gods to get help and success in their life. Although they know that only one real God exists, they don't praise Him, because it would bring their guilt into their mind. They don't turn to God in earnest because they don't want in earnest to turn away from their evilness.
Most people want join some religion to experience a feeling of safety of their religious community. The consolation of their religion keeps them apart from God's gospel that could give them the eternal joy and consolation.
Everyone, who is not able to praise the real God, is unavoidably involved in praising an idol. In practice people end up serving idols of their family or culture. Some make their own choice and change their religion. However, anyone who is disappointed with his religion should turn to God and not to another religion. Jesus Christ is the only infallible mediator between God and man.
If you become Jesus' own, you will be able to praise and serve the real God. You need not fear and serve idols, because your conscience is clear. So obey the religious spirits no more, for they try to get also you under their power. You cannot be at the same time a friend of the Holy Spirit and a friend of religious spirits. Therefore it is important to break away from all religious spirits!

The spirit of mysticalness has caused many to bow to pictures and to kiss relics. The spirit of a holy office has caused many to submit themselves to the power of a religious lord. The spirit of a holy building has caused many to worship their community as an idol.
The spirit of the trinity has in the minds of men nullified what God the Father did when He exalted the name of Jesus above all other names. The spirit of the sign of the cross has hidden the meaning of the cross of Jesus from the hearts of men and caused them to believe in sacraments.
The spirit of the unlimited mercy has caused many to tolerate evilness as a virtue. The spirit of a holy show has caused many to seek miracles, signs and prestige. The spirit of a holy book has caused many to adore the Bible or the Quran as their idol.
The spirit of a holy nation has caused many to regard their nation as God's nation and to sacrifice themselves in a war believing their sacrifice was for God although it actually was for their idol. The spirit of charity has caused many to reject the grace of God and to pay much so that they could get into the paradise. The spirit of ascetism has caused many to smile at the death and to torture themselves so that they could get their share of divinity.
The spirit of nature has caused many to worship the creature more than the Creator. The spirit of atheism has caused many to worship human wisdom and power and to trust chances instead of planning. Also many other spirits of idols have produced human culture that has contaminated the earth.
The Spirit of God has caused many to love Jesus Christ because He died for them. The Holy Spirit has caused them to obey Jesus and to put their trust in His promises.
Religious spirits have formed the mental life of everyone. Therefore also those who belong to Jesus easily honor religious spirits from force of habit. Although our spirit would be pure from them in our soul there still can be something about their influence, which appear so that we respect and fear religious authorities.
Disobedience to Jesus may be caused by obedience to the spirits of idols. Obedience to Jesus makes us disobedient to religious spirits. This war in the souls of believers can end in the victory of Jesus or religious spirits. Nobody can endlessly serve two masters.
Every religious spirit in its own way tries to invalidate the influence of God's gospel in a believer. Therefore their influence is so deadly. On the other hand only God's gospel is able to give us the power to resist the power of religious spirits.

How can we test spirits? If your spirit is trained to recognize spirits, you know immediately what spirit appears in the one who is speaking. However, sometimes the message sounds so right that only the deeds it caused reveal its origin.
Jesus advises us: "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven." Mt.7:16,20-21
A false witness of God has no Jesus-like good life: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." Ga.5:22 Many honor Jesus as Lord with their mouth, but they don't obey His teachings. They don't live by the message they preach. Also one who receives their message can receive the spirit by which they live and not that spirit about which they speak.
The message, by which you live, is the tree the fruit of which your deeds are. He, who lives by the Spirit of God, behaves according to the goodness of God. Therefore he is a genuine witness of God also when speaking. If your heart lives by a religious spirit, you are a false witness of God, though your mouth would speak the correct gospel of God.
He who is walking in the Spirit of God also loves his enemies and rejoices at goodness and is sad about evilness. He who lives in the Holy Spirit doesn't rebel against his lot but has peace with God. He who acts in the Spirit of Jesus is kind to everyone and is faithful to his promises. He who thinks in the Spirit of God is long-suffering towards all and controls his anger as well as his sexual desire.
He who is walking in a religious spirit loves only his own, has a partial mind and gets his joy from his pride. A religious spirit gives peace in religious ceremonies and entertains with traditions. He who acts in a religious spirit is conceited, quarrels for his doctrine and flatters people and intrigues against them to be able to convert them to his own religion.
A religious spirit wants to subject you to its sway but the Spirit of God wants to win your heart with God's love. So do not submit yourself to a religion, but let God's love win you over. Jesus died for you!
