God's or people's power
God's power is an ideal of believers and people's power is an ideal of godless people. The Church of God is a theocratic and not a democratic community.
God is the Almighty One
Nobody can have authority that is not originated with God, because He is almighty. He gave Adam authority to rule over the earth and over its animals. Man lost his authority to Satan when he rebelled against God. In this way Satan became the prince of this world.

All creatures should remain in their position of authority they have received from God. Satan and his angels didn't keep their own position but abandoned it and reached for the authority that was given man. One, who lusts after authority that God has not given, rebels against Him. Stolen authority finally destroys its owner.

Jesus came down from heaven and became man and was obedient to God in everything and returned to His heavenly position. By living perfectly obedient life as the new Adam He took away from Satan the power to be the prince of the world. He took back what Satan had stolen. So He said after His resurrection: "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth." Mt.28:18

Today Jesus has all authority also on earth and not only in heaven. It is not so that His power comes on earth not until He comes physically on earth. Now He only uses His authority in a different way than during the heavenly millennium. Now He uses His power to call people to the salvation and has left the nations and their leaders under the dominion of Satan. In the heavenly millennium He will rule over everything.

Authority of the Church of God
Jesus offers access to the Kingdom of God from the kingdom of Satan to those who repent their sins. Coming to faith means a transfer of power, which is based on God's love. Because of His Sacrifice I have given Jesus all authority in my life. He is my LORD and my God.

Those who belong to Jesus Christ are the Church of God. In the power of God's love they are obedient to Jesus in everything. So in the Church of God there works theocracy that means God's power. Jesus has delivered His authority as gifts to all His people.

About the authority that He gave His believers He said as follows: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Mt.28:19-20

Jesus has given us power to proclaim the gospel, by which disciples are made for Him from the citizens of all the nations. Therefore we need not to ask permission for that from any government. Jesus didn't promise us freedom of religion but the same treatment as He received from the world. If He is with us we are able to fulfill our mission, although the rulers of all the nations are against us.

The gospel is the message about God's love. Nobody can be forced to experience love. The freedom to believe or not to believe God is necessary so that anyone could manifest love for God. Without freedom it cannot be experienced God's love neither to become disciples of Jesus. Forcing to become a Christian is really a terrible crime, because it puts obstacles to experiencing love of God.

A religious tyranny has often started in homes where parents have taken away freedom from their children themselves to return God's love. Though they may have thought doing good when they have tried to bring up their children as Christians, they actually may with their pressure have harden their hearts to God's love.

Christian tyranny has dominated whole nations, when Christian leaders have started to reach after political authority and have surrendered to be instruments of the authority of rulers. In this way they have entered into the position of authority that Jesus has left Satan, for the present. He has not yet given His believers authority to rule over the godless. That power He will give us not until in the heavenly millennium.

Because of God's love it is needed freedom, the result of which the whole world is allowed to be under the control of evilness. Jesus allows Satan to act because the mankind is obedient to its own evilness. Like people like rulers.

Power of politicians
Many Christians have tried to attain to political power. They have wanted to force everyone to follow the Christian life style. Some of them have even believed they are able to make disciples of Jesus from every citizen of a nation. Already in the early Christian time leaders started to baptize babies so that they could rule over a larger number of people. Even now many believers don't understand why the political power should be left Satan and therefore they participate in politics. They do not do as Jesus does.

The triumphal march of democracy is partly reaction to the Christian tyranny. The majority of people have always been godless. So it is no wonder that they have received the ideal of the authority of the majority.

The power of the majority is carried out by voting. In practice democracy is not direct power of people but representative democracy. Parliamentarism is power of parties and not of a people. Financiers of parties decide the objectives that parties pursue. By voting people can only commit themselves to the programme of a party. In this way the heads of families are replaced with rich business men and "grey eminences" of parties as the elders of the nation.

If politics was only taking care of common affairs, civil servants could do it. However the political power is more than managing matters. It is a position of authority that God has prescribed. All authority comes from God: the parental authority over children, the authority of employers over employee, of police over criminals and of a national leader over citizens.

God has prescribed many powers and authorities in the creation but He has not prescribed democracy or rule of the people. Have people received their authority from emptiness? When man has made himself to be the source of authority, he has exalted himself to the position of God. Actually the rule of the people doesn't exist because God is the only source of authority. Satan has deceived nations.

Whoever has the political power he has received it from God and not from people. His authority is not based on how he has been elected to his position. Therefore Paul said about all political leaders as follows: "There is not authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God." Ro.13:1   Roman emperor Nero, dictators Hitler, Mao Tse-tung and Saddam Hussein and president George Bush and all the other rulers have been equally from God.

People's power or democracy is a part of the rebellion against God. In the same rebellious spirit it is opposed to all the authorities from God. Children rebel against their parents, wives against their husbands and employee against employers.

In many countries the power of the elders of families is displaced by the democratically elected leaders. The authority system of the leaders of families and tribes doesn't work anymore, because the traditional family has been destroyed. Democracy is the phenomenon of the last days of this age.

Although a people vote in leaders, it doesn't decide how they act. It matters nothing what they promised before the election because they are puppets of spiritual rulers and they have to carry out the agenda of the prince of this world. On the other hand Jesus puts limits for Satan what he and his angels can do.

Paul urges believers to pray for those who have a position of authority "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." 1Ti.2:2   Believers can influence policy and social conditions with their prayers by asking Jesus to put tighter limits for Satan so that he has less influence on leaders. In this kind of intercession work it is needed absolute submission to the Kingship of Jesus. Or - do you really believe that the King would listen to the requests of those who live in the spirit of democracy?

Let the Kingdom of God come!
God is King on His throne. He does whatever He wants in heaven and on earth. He has twenty-four elders who serve Him. There are no elections in heaven but all are submissive to God, out of love for Him. It is voted on nothing there but all agree with God to everything.

The congregations on earth are colonies of the Kingdom of God and there are lived according to the principles of the Kingdom and not of this world. Those who belong to Jesus seek what would perfectly please God and then do it. In congregation it is not voted on the will of God but you must find it by yourself.

The majority is not allowed in any matter - not even the majority of the believers - to dictate that everyone must follow the will of the majority, though it would be even wrong. The spirit of democracy says that "the majority cannot be wrong". In congregation this spirit has step by step pressed those few, who walk on the Narrow Road, to conform to the will of the godless majority.

The congregation of God is a theocratic and not a democratic community. Although Jesus doesn't give political power to His yet, He gives ministries in the Holy Spirit to His Church. Among believers there are respected those who are elected by God and not those who are elected by the members of the community. God anoints whom He wants and nothing is asked from the people. Its task is only to recognize those who God has selected.

If believers' love to Jesus grows cold, they start to rebel against God and the leaders selected by Him. Then they do the same as Israel did against Moses. "So they said to one another, 'let us select a leader and return to Egypt'." Nu.14:4

Paul experienced in Corinth the same kind of a thing as Moses. The believers abandoned him and elected for themselves leaders who were respected according to human values. "Such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness." 2Co.11:13-15   Who are selected by God? Those, who know God, are able to recognize the leaders from God. The others will receive Satan.

As Satan deceived Eve he will deceive a divinely gifted man of God and make him Antichrist. Because of the Fall of Adam he captured the world under his control and as the result of the fall of this Christian leader he will capture the signs and wonders, which were for the use of the Church. Therefore it is prophesied that signs and wonders will "deceive, if possible, even the elect." Mr.13:22

It is so terrible, when one who has received a share of God's heavenly gift, falls away from his position as a servant of God! He is spiritually twice dead, which means falling into the place in eternity named "the second death".

When the Church of God is ready, Jesus will come down from heaven on earth. Then Antichrist alias "the false prophet" will be thrown into the lake of burning sulphur together with the Beast and Satan will be imprisoned into the bottomless pit. Their administration will be destroyed and the Kingdom of God rules on the whole globe. There is no democracy and no elections in the heavenly millennium but Jesus will rule everything together with His.

When the thousand years will be over, Satan will be released from his prison. He will go out to deceive the nations and gathers them for the war against God. He is able to excite nations to rebellion, though the living conditions have been like in a paradise. In this way it will be proved that poor living conditions are not the basic reason for a rebellion, but lust for power. Surely he will also then deceive nations by promising them democracy.

I don't wish for power because God's grace is sufficient for me. Also you, do not taste power but God's Offering. Look at Jesus and taste how good He is. He is worthy to use all power and authority!
