The Day of Jesus Christ
The time is coming when people cannot be ashamed of their bad deeds anymore. For this reason they also cannot understand God's gospel, because He offers grace only to those who regret their sins. Why would God offer His grace anymore to mankind that is not able to appreciate it? Shamelessness of people is a sign of the age that declares closeness of the Day of God. His Day is a good day for His own but a doom day for the others.
Now we have the days like in Sodom
"The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves." Isaiah 3:9 The faces of modern people testify against them in the same way as it was in Sodom. There is no shame on their faces although they have committed sins. They don't hide their loathsome deeds, but they seek public acceptance for their sins.
It is so crazy that the great part of man-woman-couples is living together without a marriage at the same time as gays and lesbians are craving to get married. They behave like people of Sodom when they want that their sin is accepted. Now they have got the acceptance of the majority. This is their Day.
When God speaks about people whose heart has become so callous that they are able to sin with "a good conscience" He refers to Sodom and Gomorrah. In this way it was with the Israeli before they had to go into captivity, away from their land: "And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no-one turns from his wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah." Jeremiah 23:14
A smooth-tongued clergyman condemns deeds of almost nobody, and thus he strengthens the hands of evildoers. In this way he shares in their sins that he approved.

Shameless legalizers of sin
Who lives in sin cannot have peace with God. Using skilled word-mongering one can nullify a sin. Many priests and preachers have manipulated the conscience of people so that they think they have peace with God.
"They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them, says the LORD." Jeremiah 6:14-15

Because a priest doesn't condemn adultery, people cannot be ashamed of their unfaithfulness. Because a priest doesn't condemn gays and lesbians they don't understand to shudder their perversity. Therefore these priests "will fall among the fallen" and they will get the same punishment as those whose sins they have "understood".

People of Sodom
"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49 A high standard of living leads easily to life of a pleasure-lover. A spin of lust leads to perversity.
People of Sodom saw when two angels came to Lot. They looked so beautiful men that the men of the city got a lust after them. "Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom - both young and old - surrounded the house. They called to Lot, 'Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we can have sex with them.'" Genesis.19:4-5
The angels struck the men with blindness and so Lot could escape from the town. They said to Lot: "Do you have anyone else here - sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that He has sent us to destroy it." Genesis 19:12-13

The Day of the Son of Man
Jesus calls Himself the Son of Man, because He is a new Adam. He is the Son of God as well as the Son of Man. What is His Day like? He has promised to come back and reward His own and punish His enemies.
If one had a bad day one can say: "This was not my day." The days we now live are not the days of Jesus. Nowadays He is not appreciated almost at all.
I would like to see at least one day in these days when I could say: "This was the day of Jesus." However He has predicted: "The time is coming, when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it." Luke 17:22 Why are not we allowed to see it? Therefore because a little before He comes back people will be as hardened as they were before the Flood and before the destruction of Sodom. He considers it needless to offer His grace to shameless people. Are we already today living the time that Jesus mentioned?

The Day of Jesus is near
The day is near when Jesus can say: "This is my day." He prophesied this: "But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed." Luke 17:25-30
These three events have the following common feature. At the same time as God judges callous people He saves His friends from His judgement. Jesus says that the spiritual state of mankind is similar a little before these three catastrophes. Therefore it is good to ask: How does much the mankind of today live in the spirit of Sodom? The Flood and the devastation of Sodom are a part of history, but the coming of Jesus will happen in the near future.
But still now you, who are ashamed of your bad deeds, you can come to God. He will give you His grace because of Jesus. Don't be afraid to experience the shame of your sins, for God is powerful to comfort you. "Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign LORD." Ezekiel.16:63
"Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs." Isaiah 61:7
"Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame." Rom.10:11
