Asteroids are coming
The threat of asteroids has come up since the beginning of the decade of 1990. At the beginning of the decade an asteroid was observed that went past the earth. If it would have had the different passing time of only one minute it would have hit the Earth and it was so big an asteroid that all life would have been destroyed. This scared many scientists. There was an international conference and big research projects were started so that approaching asteroids could be observed. Jesus has foretold that asteroids will fall down to earth a little before He will come back. God is in control. The asteroid of the right size will fall down to the right place and at the right time. It will be the most difficult time in the history of the mankind.
Observing asteroidsBBC news told on its internet page 12.1.2000: "No escaping asteroids". More than 700 asteroids have been observed to approach the earth. Actually they are many more, for only a part of them has been able to be observed. It is thought that at the current rate it will take about 15 years to track down 90% of them. They call an asteroid that could be hazardous for the earth with the name NEO ( Near Earth Object ).
Scientists say about the matter: "Whether an asteroid will hit the Earth is a question of when, not if."
They cannot say certainly, which of NEOs will hit and which will pass by. It is possible that at any moment an unnoticeable asteroid can hit the Earth. Therefore they would like to track them in time so that it could be possible to change their track with explosives which a rocket brings to the object. Planet Center).
Whole mankind will be distressedBible's Daniel got from God the next
vision:
"There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people - everyone whose name is found written in the book - will be delivered." Dan.12:1 Jesus foretells about the same thing:
"For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now - and never to be equalled again. If those days had not been cut short, no-one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened." Matth.24:21-22 The greatest distress in the history of mankind is near. The
future of mankind is pressing in many ways without these impacts of asteroids: new serious
diseases, changes of climate, coming big
earthquakes, the
pollution of
nature and so on. This greatest distress in the history of mankind is near. Then people will be desperate, because the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
Jesus foretold that asteroids will hit the Earth"Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." Matth.24:29 God will evacuate His people from that great distress. Notice how Jesus announces that the falling of asteroids happens near the time when angels gather His people from the earth. The days of distress are even shortened for the sake of
believers. Apostle John sees the previous event in the
vision:
"I watched as He opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig-tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place." Rev.6:12-16 Jesus describes that tribulation:
"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken." Luke 21:25-26 When an asteroid falls down into a sea it causes huge waves. These breakers devastate the land from the shore deeply to the inland.
Scientists have observed that particularly great
earthquakes are coming. Then also continental plates can be moved and so the prediction of the Bible would be fulfilled: "mountains and islands were removed from their places."
During the year 1999 there were series of
earthquakes in the world, which especially shook Turkey. Then
scientists predicted that in the near
future there will be series of greater earthquakes where for instance the main island of Japan will be seriously shaken. They said that it can happen tomorrow, but in any case during 30 years. We can image what tensions of earth's crust could go off, if an asteroid would crash into a sensitive place. Notice that the Bible pronounces that this time of the great distress is only once in the history of mankind.
How do you react upon the distress?Oppressing news have been increased, the more knowledge the more grief. Many react upon a distress by celebrating. This is an old custom to care one's soul, when the
future seems desperate. The
Israeli said to each other when the
army of the
enemy was surrounding them:
"'Let us eat and drink', you say, 'for tomorrow we die!'" Isaiah.22:13 You can react also in another way upon the distress caused by the
truth. You can turn to Him who sent the distress. Jesus helps you through the tribulation, if you put your trust in Him.
When we see how the
prophecies of the Bible come true it proclaims to us that Bible's Jesus is
trustworthy. He says: "See, I have told you ahead of time."
Jesus catch up His ownAlso Apostle Paul tells us about that great day when God's trumpet sounds the assembly for everyone who is Jesus' own:
"Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." 1Cor.15:51-52 "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up meet the Lord in the air." 1Thess.4:16-17 Jesus emphasises the speed of the event when He says:
"Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left." Matth.24:40-41 Jesus picks up His own away from the great distress. Angeles fetch
believers "from one end of the
heavens to the other". It happens at the same time all over the world.
They are gathered to the throne of God. The next report describes the atmosphere of that moment:
"Then one of the elders asked me, 'These in white robes - who are they, and where did they come from?' ... And he said, 'These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'" Rev.7:13-14 Take care of it that you are among those who God will evacuate on that great day of the
redemption.
